Owl Tea Cosy

I’ve knitted an amusing owl tea cosy:-

I taught myself how to knit last month and this is only the second thing I’ve made following a pattern.

Rose Cushion

I’ve made a cushion – well it’s more than just a cushion, I think it’s a work of art. Certainly the best thing I’ve made for years and for once I didn’t follow a pattern, I designed it all myself.

1. The first thing I did was draw round a dinner plate, cut it out, sew it up and stuff it. Then using some vintage 1950s crochet thread I tatted some lace.

2. The next step was to sew the lace round the outside.

3. Then I made a rosette out of some ribbon.

4. And cut some leaves out of felt – which I embroidered some lines on to make them more leaf like.

5. I did six leaves in total.

6. I attached the leaves together.

7. Added the rose to them.

8. Ta-da! Here’s the finished cushion.

Very, very pleased with it. Usually I’m quite critical of things I make, but I can’t find anything wrong with it (so far).

60s Cushions

I got some 60s fabric so I thought I’d make some cushions from it.

They have spotty vintage material on the back:-

Music Notes Bookmark

I sewed a music notes bookmark for a friend’s Christmas present. I designed it myself on graph paper and did the notes in colours of the rainbow.

Pretty Flower Picture

I’ve had a busy Christmas making a few things. Here’s a picture I did in cross stitch as a Christmas present.

I bought a very nice frame for it.

Tatted Earrings

I’ve now made a few pairs of tatted earring for the York Does Vintage Fair I have a stall at on Saturday 3rd December.

Here’s all the pairs I’ve made so far:-

I’m selling them at £5 a pair.
